Walker and neighboring Catoosa County called off schools Sunday as heavy rains continued over the weekend. Chattooga County, Chickamauga City Schools and Trion City Schools also called off classes today.
Ms. Womack said a decision will be made later in the day on whether students will attend schools tomorrow.
Forecast of 100 percent probability of rain for the rest of the day and an 80 percent chance tonight doesn’t bode well, she said.
Dade County school buses couldn’t reach some students on a couple of flooded roads, but classes are in session today anyway, said Superintendent Patty Priest.
Ms. Priest said decision on tomorrow’s schedule will be made later in the day.
