Chattanooga: The Passage reopens after 2 years

Two years after it was closed and with $1.6 million for design and repairs, the city re-opened its popular water attraction, the Passage, this morning.

City workers removed three fences around the feature, which is intended to help pedestrians connect with the river while also commemorating American Indian history, reopening it to the public for the first time since February 2008.

City spokesman Richard Beeland said repairs were finished Monday and the attraction is "ready to be enjoyed."
