Chattanooga: Victim of morning shooting was Cleveland, Tenn., man

A Cleveland, Tenn., man has been identified as the victim of an early morning shooting at the corner of Main and Willow streets.

Timmy Nichols, 50, was fatally shot in the chest today after an argument with 20-year-old Quintisha Brabson, according to Chattanooga police. According to witnesses, the suspect was approached by Mr. Nichols and his passengers as she stood in a parking lot at the corner of Main and Willow streets.

Stories conflict as to why Mr. Nichols stopped the suspect, but tempers flared during a conversation and Mr. Nichols was shot when he tried to get out of his car, police department spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary said.

She said the vehicle then pulled off the lot and headed west until the driver crashed it at 1800 E. Main Street. Two passengers in the vehicle, Lisa Greenlief and Jeffrey Young, were treated at a local hospital for injuries they sustained in the crash, police said.

Mr. Young initially fled the scene but later was found at a nearby house, according to police.

Ms. Brabson has been charged with criminal homicide and is being held at the Hamilton County Jail, authorities said.
