Red rules at Heart Association luncheon
What: Hundreds of women dressed in red turned out for the “Go Red for Women” luncheon at the Chattanooga Convention Center.

Men ‘Go Red’ for women
What: Ten male cardiac-rehab patients raised $3,000 by walking a runway in red dresses at Erlanger’s Chattanooga Lifestyle Center.
Benefits: American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” campaign.
Highlights:
Audience members paid $1 per vote for their favorite model. Contestant Skip Fairbanks, who performed a hearthealthy cheer, earned the title of Highest Money Maker. LeBron Flippen was named Best in Show for his alter ego, Geraldine.
Strides of March supports CARES
What: The 15th annual Strides of March was held recently. The 3.1-mile walk began in Coolidge Park, crossed the Market Street bridge, circled through the Bluff View Art District then returned to the park.
Benefits: Chattanooga CARES, the Tennessee Valley HIV/AIDS resource agency.
Alliance supports UTC nursing program
What: The Chattanooga-Hamilton County Medical Society Alliance donated $2,525 for the purchase of a baby mannequin.
Benefits: University of Tennessee at Chattanooga College of Nursing.
Singers support Boehm center
What: Chattanooga Choo Choo Chorus raised $4,103 for charity at its annual Christmas program. Benefits: Walter Boehm Birth Defects Center.
