Whatever Carylon Killebrew is doing, she constantly reminds herself to be fully present.

"Whether I paint a boat or chair or dress, I place myself and all my attention in that moment," she said. "It is a position of anticipated blessing."

An exhibition of her most recent oil paintings will be held Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. in her studio in North Chattanooga. The event is being held with support by Gallery 1401.

"The eclectic imagery includes cows, barns, fabric, boats, canoes and a new section titled 'eat here,' " explained Ms. Killebrew.

The artworks will showcase her familiar style of loose realism.

Ms. Killebrew's studio is located in her home at 1641 Berkley Circle. For information, call Gallery 1401 at 265-0015.
