Clean-up continued today after severe weekend weather and tornadoes tore a path from Mississippi to Northwest Georgia.

At least 30 people were hurt by the storms in Alabama, according to the Associated Press. In Chattooga County, Ga., about 45 miles south of Chattanooga, an EF-1 tornado damaged eight homes, toppled a handful of barns and outbuildings and felled hundreds, if not a thousand or more, trees, emergency officials said. No one was hurt there.

Two hangars at a private airport in Chattooga County were leveled, damaging two planes, said Eddie Henderson, director of the county's Emergency Management Agency. By Monday afternoon, most roads in Chattooga County were reopened and homeowners began assessing the damage.

In Alabama, at least seven people were injured when a powerful EF-3 tornado touched down in a trailer park outside Mentone. Police Chief Lamar Bray said the storm destroyed nine of the 11 manufactured homes in the park. Seven people were taken to the hospital, but just person remains hospitalized, the chief said.

Gov. Bob Riley toured the damage by air on Monday as residents worked to clean up from the onslaught of the severe weather that was linked to two deaths and dozens of injuries.
