Tennessee: 5 tornadoes confirmed from weekend storms

National Weather Service teams have confirmed five weekend tornadoes in Tennessee and are evaluating other damage.

There were no deaths or severe injuries reported in Tennessee from the storms.

The strongest tornado was an EF-2 in East Tennessee early Sunday. Meteorologist David Hotz with the National Weather Service in Morristown, Tenn., said today that the tornado made a path from near Vonore to near Greenback.

The weather service office in Nashville said an EF-1 that was 300 yards wide traveled for nearly 14 miles in Perry and Humphreys counties of Middle Tennessee on Saturday, mostly ripping up trees.

Weather service forecaster Bill Borghoff at the Memphis office said an EF-1 tornado on Saturday was confirmed in Decatur County.

There was also an EF-1 in Hickman County and an EF-0 in Macon County, the weather service reported.
