Georgia picked up its 16th football commitment for the 2011 signing class and the 12th from a Peach State prospect this weekend when Griffin defensive tackle Chris Mayes gave a nonbinding pledge to Bulldogs coaches.
The 6-foot-5, 295-pound Mayes is rated by Rivals.com as the No. 31 defensive tackle prospect nationally.
