CSAS and CSLA magnet schools revising admission process

Two popular local magnet schools are revising their admissions process, making it no longer necessary for parents to set up camp for days outside the buildings.

Administrators from Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences and Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts, will get input from parents, central office staff and other schools on how to admit students next fall.

In the past, the schools have enrolled students on a first come, first served basis. Every year, kindergarten parents would camp outside CSAS for about a week, in an effort to secure a spot for their child.

School officials said there will be announcement when a new admission process has been selected.
