Hamilton County Mayor Claude Ramsey is expected to join newly-elected Gov. Bill Haslam in Nashville and will make the announcement Friday morning according to sources familiar with the situation.
Ramsey, 67, will become deputy governor in the new administration, sources said.
Ramsey did not return calls seeking comment tonight.
Ramsey has served as county mayor since 1994 and has held a number of other elected posts including:
State representative, 1972-76; delegate to the 1977 State of Tennessee Limited Constitutional convention; Hamilton County board of commissioners, 1978-80; Hamilton County assessor of property, 1980-94.
