Serendipity Delights, 3510 Dayton Blvd. in Red Bank, is known for all its homemade goodies, such as a delicious pimento cheese and chicken salad. Among the more substantial dishes is chicken potpie, one of several new menu items that have been received very well, said owner Judy Smith.
The potpie is comfort food to the max. It's filled with chunks of tender white chicken and fresh vegetables enveloped in a savory, made-from-scratch gravy, then topped with a flaky homemade crust.
"It can be served as a main dish or as a combo with a choice of side dish," Smith said, adding that the combo portion is slightly smaller than the main-dish serving. If ordering a side dish, Smith recommends the seasonal cranberry-orange congealed salad, which was a big hit during the holidays last year.
