Haslam names special advisor for legislation

NASHVILLE - Republican Gov.-elect Bill Haslam today announced he has named Huntingdon Mayor Dale Kelley as his special advisor for legislation, a Cabinet-level post.

Kelley, 71, who is serving his fifth four-year term as mayor, served as a state representative from 1979-1985 before becoming Employment Security commissioner under then-Gov. Lamar Alexander, a Republican. Kelley later served as commissioner of the state Transportation Department under Alexander.
