Lectrus buys South Dakota company

Lectrus Corp., a business with corporate offices and a plant in Chattanooga, has announced an expansion by buying DTS Inc. of Tea, S.D.

DTS makes custom steel and aluminum enclosures, tanks and trailers for the commercial generator market, a release said. Its acquisition expands Lectrus' sales, engineering, fabrication and electrical integration operations into the upper Midwest, Rocky Mountain and western Canadian regions.

Lectrus' Chattanooga operations include a plant on Polymer Drive and corporate offices on Olan Mills Drive. It has about 175 employees in Chattanooga.

The business, which makes large enclosures that house electrical power equipment like switch gear and motor controls, also has a plant in Houston. It is owned by RFE Investment Partners, a private equity investment firm based in New Canaan, Conn.
