'Take Art/Leave Art'

AVA's Landis Gallery hosts collaborative exhibition

On display in the Landis Gallery at the Association for Visual Arts is a collaborative, community-based show organized by Michigan, an experimental art collaborative. Participants in "Take Art/Leave Art" were asked to donate as much work as they wanted to display so it could be seen, appreciated and then potentially taken away. Those who contributed work are free to take away as many pieces as they donated.

"We encouraged submissions from all areas of expertise -- nothing was too good, too bad or too weird," said Tara Harris. "It's not about being the best or the worst; it's about being part of an artistic community."

"Take Art/Leave Art" will continue through Feb. 26.

AVA, 30 Frazier Ave., is open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday though Friday. Call 265-4282.
