Cougars snap UTC win streak

CHARLESTON, S.C. — The College of Charleston jumped on the Southern Conference-leading University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team early Monday and remained in control throughout its 62-50 win at Carolina First Arena.

The loss was UTC's first since Dec. 17, snapping a 13-game winning streak.

With the loss, UTC's lead over Charleston in the SoCon standings is just a game with four games remaining. The Lady Mocs (18-7, 13-3) host Appalachian State on Saturday.

The Cougars (18-7, 12-4) hit seven 3-pointers in the first half — half of their 14 first-half field goals were 3s — and led 37-26 at the break.
