A celebration of the region’s rich legacy of sharing

2010 Women of Distinction welcomed

What: A reception was held at the Riverview home of Deborah Harrison Everhart to welcome 10 women selected as the 2010 Women of Distinction.

Benefits: American Lung Association of Tennessee.

The honorees: Kim Coffey, Robin Derryberry, Dolores Harvey, Jan Headrick, Jayne Holder, Kristen Huntley, Eleanor Jones, Jill Levine, Jennifer Nicely and Rebecca Smith.

Luncheon: The women will be recognized May 4 at the 25th anniversary Women of Distinction awards luncheon in the Chattanooga Convention Center.

Service day for Southern students

What: More than 800 students, employees and friends of Southern Adventist University in Collegedale spent a day in community service. Benefits: The volunteers worked at 50 sites around the area.

Girl Scouts host Father-Daughter Fairy Dust Dance

What: Daisy, Brownie and Junior Girl Scout troops from across the city held a father-daughter dance, The Fairy Dust Dance, at Loose Cannon Studio in the Southside.

Benefits: Admission was a donation of canned food for the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.
