Commission votes to name building for McDaniel

by Matt Wilson

Hamilton County commissioners voted this morning to name a $7.5 million county building after the Rev. Paul McDaniel.

The Rev. McDaniel served five terms on the County Commission, from 1978 to 1998, after participating in the state constitutional convention that established that form of county government.

He was present at the meeting this morning and said he felt “so many emotions” about the honor.

Life Care Centers of America donated the building at 455 N. Highland Park Ave. to the county in November. The county plans to use it for office space.
