Mocs beat Davidson in last home game

The Mocs' losing streak is over.

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga defeated Davidson 78-73 in its final home game of the season.

The win snaps a season-long five game losing streak. It also snaps an eight-game losing streak to Davidson which had NBA rookie of the year candidate Stephen Curry for the last three seasons.

Senior Ty Patterson, the lone senior on this squad, was honored before the game as part of Senior Night ceremonies and responded with 20 points.

Sophomore guard Ricky Taylor tied a career high with 22 points and point guard Keegan Bell had 16.

Freshman Jake Cohen led the Wildcats with 16 points, Brendan McKillop had 15 and freshman Nik Cochran had 13 points.

The Mocs improved to 14-15 and 6-10 in the Southern Conference while the Wildcats dropped to 14-14 and 9-7.

The Mocs trailed 35-32 at halftime. In the second half, an 11-0 run by the Mocs turned a 50-52 deficit into a 61-5 lead that they maintained for the rest of the game.
