-- Red Bank: The Chamber meets in Red Bank on Tuesday with Red Bank Mayor Joe Glascock as the featured speaker. The noon luncheon will be at the Red Bank Community Center. Lunch is $10.

-- Business Building Blocks: This "Social Networking" event will be Wednesday from noon to 4 p.m. and will be presented by Paul Reed of Business Resource Solutions. It will be at the Chamber Building at 811 Broad St. Call 763-4366 to register or for information.

-- Ooltewah/Collegedale: The Chamber meets Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in Ooltewah/Collegedale. It will involve an EPB presentation on Fiber to the Home. The event will be at 4910 Swinyar Drive.

-- Hixson: The Chamber Meets in Hixson on Wednesday with Lisa Nausley of Sandler Training speaking on "The Seven Deadly Sins: Common Negotiating Mistakes." This noon luncheon will be at the North River Civic Center at 1009 Executive Drive. Cost for lunch is $10.

-- Reality Check: The Chamber's school-to-work program that helps ninth graders grasp the connection between scholastic success and future income will be on Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences To volunteer to help present this program, contact Cathy Humble at 763-4321 or chumble@chattanoogachamber.com.

-- Soddy-Daisy: The Chamber meets at the Soddy-Daisy City Hall on Thursday at noon with the program being the Soddy-Daisy High School Band representatives discussing their experiences at the Rose Bowl Parade. Lunch will be $10.

-- Business After Hours: This will be held Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lindsay Street Hall at 901 Lindsay St.

Seminars, meetings

-- Chattanooga Real Estate Investors Association: Bill Gulas of Entrust will speaking about converting a standard IRA to a Roth on Monday at 7 p.m. at the Asian Buffet at 6901 Lee Highway.

-- Keller Williams Downtown Fair: Keller Williams Downtown is holding a vendor referral and networking fair on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the second floor of the Plow Building at Carter and Main streets. It will serve as a networking event for real estate agents and vendors. Proceeds will benefit KWCares Charity.

-- Mini Computer Workshops for Busy People: "Introduction to PC/Windows" will be held Tuesday. The Tennessee Small Business Development Center and Chattanooga State Community College, 4501 Amnicola Highway, are the sponsors. Hours are 9 to 11 a.m. $39. -- Chattanooga Real Estate Investment Association: Author and financial authority Robert Shermin will speak Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The event is being hosted by Office Furniture Warehouse, located at suite 216 at 100 Cherokee Blvd. Admission is $5 a person at the door and $20 for a weekend seminar. -- Crye-Leike Tax Credit Seminar: Crye-Leike said it is holding homebuyer tax credit seminar for the public on Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the firm's Hixson Sales Center located at 5870 Highway 153. "As part of its plan to stimulate the U.S. housing market and address the economic challenges facing our nation, Congress passed new legislation that will extend the $8,000 first-time homebuyer tax credit until April 30, 2010," said Crye-Leike Hixson Managing Broker Kathy Tucker. "The new legislation also expands the credit granting up to $6,500 to current home owners purchasing a new or existing home between Nov. 7th, 2009 and April 30th, 2010." The event is free and added information is available by contacting the Hixson office at 870-5202.

--Small Business Orientation: The counselor discusses basic business planning including financial projections and legal entity. People will get an information packet containing phone numbers and addresses for information about business licenses and taxes and other start-up materials. The site is the Tennessee Small Business Development Center, 100 Cherokee Blvd., and it will be Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The event is free. Call 756-8668 for more information and to register.

-- Business Advice: Free business help is available from members of SCORE, Counselors to America's Small Business, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Monday through Wednesday at the Franklin Building, suite 515, 5726 Marlin Road, at Eastgate Town Center. For more information, call 553-1722.

-- Business Planning: Free counseling for business people is available from the Chattanooga Small Business Development Center, 100 Cherokee Blvd., suite 202. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fridays.
