Vote for WTCI ‘Be More’ award finalists

WTCI-TV, the area’s PBS station, has announced finalists in six categories of its Be More Awards.

The Be More Awards recognize unsung heroes in area nonprofit organizations. Winners will be announced March 3 during a luncheon at The Chattanoogan. Judy Woodruff, senior correspondent for PBS NewsHour, will be the featured speaker.

The public is invited to be part of the awards process by voting for one of the 11 finalists in the People’s Choice Award at wtciTV.org through Feb. 15. The People’s Choice Award will recognize the local organization that is “most connected to the community and people it serves,” according to a WTCI news release.

“WTCI has had a tremendous response from our nonprofit community for the inaugural Be More Awards,” said WTCI President Paul Grove. “We are now asking our community to get involved by casting votes for the People’s Choice Award and attending the awards ceremony.”

Other award categories are Be More Collaborative, Be More Creative, Be More Impactful, Be More Enriched, Be More Courageous and Be More Engaging.

Tickets for the luncheon may be purchased at wtciTV.org or by calling (423) 702-7808.
