Karen Horton School of Dance, located at 3517 Hixson Pike in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is celebrating its 40th year of dance education. The school, opened in 1969, features three studios and offers classes in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, Irish step, hip hop, and pointe. We are DMA certified and classes are available for children as young as 3 and adults as old as 103. Every class has the chance to perform in the annual recital which is held the Saturday after Memorial Day. We hope you'll join us for another wonderful year!
In August of 2008, Karen Horton School of Dance held their first summer dance camp. Little Diva Dance Camp was a week-long camp for 7-10 year olds. Ms. Jessica and Ms. Kristen taught the girls several different types of dance, including ballet, Irish step, hip-hop, and even tumbling. The girls also enjoyed playing outside, watching movies, playing dance games, and arts and crafts. At the end of the camp, the girls invited their friends and family in to the studio for a special performance. They had so much fun!
In July of 2009, we held our second dance camp, "Do You Think You Can Dance?" We doubled the amount of campers from the previous summer. The girls took classes in ballet, jazz, cheer, tumbling, hip hop, Latin jazz, and Irish. Check out pictures from the camp here.
