HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- The Huntsville Stars took both games of a doubleheader against the Chattanooga Lookouts on Wednesday, winning the first game 1-0 and taking the nightcap 5-4.
Chattanooga starting pitcher Timothy Sexton and Huntsville counterpart Amaury Rivas produced a scoreless draw through six innings of the opening seven-inning game, but the Stars got going in the seventh with a leadoff walk and a throwing error by Lookouts catcher Mike Rivera.
Steffan Wilson's infield hit loaded the bases with nobody out, and Chuck Caufield's one-out single to left won it for the hosts.
The Lookouts did not experience success on the mound in the nightcap, surrendering 12 walks. The 12th was allowed by Eric Krebs to Anderson Machado with the bases loaded in the seventh, resulting in the final score.
The Stars took a 4-0 lead after two innings, but Chattanooga (6-3) rallied to tie the game 4-4 with a three-run fifth, which was highlighted by Trayvon Robinson's single to left that scored Jessie Mier and Eddy Perez.
Game four of a six-game series in Huntsville is tonight at 8.
Aaron Miller (0-1, 3.00) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Josh Butler (1-4, 4.70) scheduled for the Stars.
