NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Two units of the Tennessee National Guard will be arriving home from Iraq just in time to celebrate Independence Day.
The two units are part of the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment and are group of about 125 soldiers scheduled to arrive at the National Guard's Volunteer Training Site in Smyrna on Saturday.
The units are the 181st Forward Support Company, headquartered in Athens, but composed primarily of soldiers from Hamilton County, and Lewisburg's "G'' Troop of the 278th Support Squadron.
The 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment, headquartered in Knoxville, is returning from Iraq six months earlier than expected with all the units expected to be home by the end of August.

Thanks for bringing our soldiers home. Thank you, soldiers, for giving us an Independence to celebrate.
