A federal judge late Tuesday denied several motions to dismiss a $25 million lawsuit currently lodged against the accusers of a former North Georgia school teacher acquitted in May of child molestation charges.

The ruling means Tonya Craft, who spent about $500,000 defending herself in Catoosa County, Ga., Superior Court, has the green light to forge ahead in her litigation, which seeks compensation from those who she said defamed her and ruined her career.

Included in the 15 defendants is Ms. Craft’s ex-husband, Joal Henke, who, along with others, had wanted the case dismissed.

Mr. Henke’s legal bills are expected to skyrocket into the five figures, legal experts say, if he hopes to effectively defend himself.

Ms. Craft alleges he “intimidated and manipulated” their daughter, an alleged victim in the molestation case, in trying to bring false criminal charges against his ex-wife.

Ms. Craft makes similar allegations against the Catoosa County government, the Georgia state agencies that participated in interviewing all three alleged victims, the parents of the alleged victims and even friends of the parents.

Catoosa County residents, prepare for a tax hike as this case and possible verdict could cost you some money. Tonya Craft is entitled to some BIG payback.
