A former teacher is in custody for allegedly attempting to have sex with a child.
FBI officials say Richard Williams, 47, was arrested Monday after he allegedly traveled to Ringgold from Atlanta in an effort to have sex with a minor child.
He is being held in the Catoosa County Jail on no bond, Staff Sgt. Melissa Griffin said, and is charged with attempted aggravated assault and computer pornography, officials said.
Officials said Mr. Williams caught the the attention of law enforcement agents during online conversations over the Internet.
