DUNLAP: Company working on new Chamber/City website

by Winston D. Pickett

Video Ideas Productions has been awarded the job of designing the dual website for the Sequatchie County-Dunlap Chamber of Commerce and the City of Dunlap.

This effort is designed to maximize available technology that will make navigation of the new site much more friendly and informative.

Local photographer Carson Camp is furnishing most of the still photography. The website video is under way and will be finished after the first of the year. But cameras were in place for the Fourth of July parade and evening fireworks, which will be part of the video. There also will soon be a DVD of the Fourth of July parade available at City Hall and the Chamber office.

The winners for the Fourth of July floats were: Business - Bledsoe Telephone Cooperative Community-Way of the Cross Church; Civic - Dunlap Fire Department; Most Unusual - Coke Ovens.

Blood Assurance, Inc. will be having a blood drive on Tuesday at Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative from 3:40-5:20 p.m. They need as much blood as possible due to the summer months.

The Sequatchie County Fair will be held July 17-24 at the fairgrounds. The carnival will run from July 20-24. On Friday night, July 23, a dance is set for 6:30-9:30 p.m. and will feature the group “4 on the Floor.”
