The Walker County Board of Education has honored this year's 2010 Distinguished Teachers from each school. Robert Stinson, Walker County schools' Distinguished Teacher of the Year for 2009-2010, who teaches at Rossville Middle School, received $1,000 for advanced professional learning opportunities. The other 2010 Walker County Schools Distinguished Teachers of the Year were: Susan Royal from Chattanooga Valley Elementary, Kari Krouse from Gilbert Elementary, Audrey Buxmann from Rossville Elementary and Donna Ensley from North LaFayette Elementary. Norma Carol Gault from Ridgeland High School, Deanna Rogers from Chattanooga Valley Middle, Linda Johnson from Cherokee Ridge Elementary, Laura Smalley from Naomi Elementary, Lynnda Owens from LaFayette Middle, Craig Fowler from LaFayette High School, Curt Hitchens from Fairyland Elementary, Wendy Kissner from Rock Spring Elementary and Jenny Taylor from Stone Creek Elementary. Distinguished Teachers all received a certificate for $200 to use within their classrooms.
