RINGGOLD: Teen raising money for championship run

Travis Henry, a black belt student at Jessie Thornton's United Karate Studio in Ringgold, has recently earned a position on World Karate and Kickboxing Association Team USA. He will compete in the World Championships in Edinburgh, Scotland, in October. Team members must raise money to make the journey. Travis will benefit from anyone who eats at CiCi's Pizza in Fort Oglethorpe on Tuesday from 4-11 p.m. You must mention that you are supporting Travis.

The City of Ringgold is selling historical postcards at the City Hall and the Ringgold Depot. The postcards feature 10 different historic and scenic sites in the city and are 25 cents or 10 for $2. Other promotional items available include T-shirts, and train whistles and magnets. The funds will assist the Downtown Development Authority.

Ringgold Church of Christ, 7099 Nashville St., is offering Vacation Bible School on 6-8 p.m. nightly from July 12-15. The theme is "Wanted by God". Children ages 3 through grade 5 are invited. Thursday night is Family night. Call 706-965-2820 for information.
