Tonya Craft and her lawyers have requested more time to prepare for a hearing to fight for custody of her kids, a court employee said this morning.

The hearing had been scheduled for July 22. According to the Hamilton County Circuit Court clerk's office, a new date likely will be chosen on July 23.

Ms. Craft, a former Chickamauga, Ga., school teacher, was acquitted in May of 22 counts involving child molestation charges.

She since has been fighting for custody of her two children, whom authorities took away from her in 2008 when the charges first surfaced in Catoosa County Superior Court.

Ms. Craft also has a $25 million federal lawsuit pending in which she claims all her accusers conspired to ruin her reputation and career by bringing the false charges.
