PDF: Statement from Smith campaign
In a statement released Friday evening, the Smith campaign spoke out about what they perceive as a "false and negative ad" by her opposition, Chuck Fleischmann.
Included in the short statement was the interpretation by the Smith campaign on why they believe things have suddenly turned so negative. "Unfortunately desperate candidates often resort to ugly tactics when the end of a losing campaign is in sight."
After requesting that Fleischmann join her in a real discussion of the critical issues, she reiterated her stance against the negative attacks by stating, "anything less is beneath the stature of the office he seeks."
