Hamilton County: 21-year-old found shot in head

A 21-year-old man was found shot in the head this morning while sitting in his car in Harrison, police said.

About 11 a.m., Hamilton County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to Memorial Hospital on a report of a person shot, said Janice Atkinson, spokeswoman for the sheriff's office. Once there, investigators interviewed Charles Moore, the victim's father, who said he heard gunshots outside his home, located at 5802 Shady Hollow Lane. W

Mr. Moore told investigators that, when he went outside, he found his son, Darrian Levon Moore, sitting in a vehicle with an apparent gunshot to the head.

Mr. Moore said he immediately drove his son to Memorial Hospital, Ms. Atkinson said, but due to the severity of the injury, the victim was transferred to Erlanger hospital where he later died.

The Investigative Division of the sheriff's office is asking anyone with information on the incident to contact Detective David Sowder at 423-622-0022.
