Residents of Birchwood can enjoy bluegrass one night and gospel the next when the Birchwood Family Opry gets under way this weekend.

Tonight, Bluetastic Fangrass and Hard Drive will be featured. Saturday offers gospel music by the Scenic City Quartet and soloist Trish Marshall. Both programs start at 7 p.m.

The opry is held in a former church building across from Birchwood Elementary School, 5623 Highway 60 (midway between Cleveland and Dayton, Tenn.).

Popcorn and soft drinks will be available. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. For more information, call Hoyt Branum at 961-2462.
