Six Mocs earn preseason honors

Left tackle Chris Harr and cornerback Buster Skrine were among the six University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football players voted preseason All-Southern Conference by the leagues coaches, the SoCon announced Monday. The two seniors were named to the first team, while four other Mocs made the second team.

The league also announced the media and coaches' preseason picks and UTC was picked by the media to finish fourth in the league, while the coaches projected the Mocs to finish fifth.

Quarterback B.J. Coleman was picked second-team All-SoCon, as were defensive end Josh Williams, linebacker Ryan Consiglio and punter Mike Hammons.

The media and the coaches picked Appalachian State, the Mocs' opening opponent, to win the league, with Elon finishing second in both polls.
