Ice cream lovers are in for a treat at Sunday’s Chattanooga Market when Mayfield Dairy will scoop up cool, creamy, pink ice creams to support the Chattanooga affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Chattanooga Market is held each Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in First Tennessee Pavilion.
Visitors to the market may purchase ice cream tickets from local breast cancer survivors and other affiliate volunteers for this five-for-five deal.
For each $5 ticket, the purchaser may enjoy any or all of Mayfield’s pink ice creams: strawberry, black cherry, cherry nut, cherry cordial and strawberry cheesecake.
Komen volunteers will be on-site to coordinate children’s activities as part of their kickoff for Kidz for Komen.
There will be a Mayfield Milkshake contest for marketgoers with prizes for winners.
In addition, the Chattanooga affiliate will offer breast health education materials and information about the 11th annual Komen Chattanooga Race for the Cure.
“Our affiliate is thrilled Mayfield has chosen our organization to help us raise funds,” said Sarah Bowen, Chattanooga affiliate president.
“Their support will help our organization spread our breast cancer awareness message and raise needed funds to allow us to expand and provide support to local breast health education, treatment and screening programs to under-served women in our community,” Bowen said.
