Memory screening

Dr. Robert Catanese and Dr. Benjamin Birdwell, neuropsychologists, will be conducting a memory screening clinic at the Jewish Cultural Center, 5461 North Terrace Road, June 25. Anyone older than 55 who is concerned about memory loss should call 339-3996 to schedule an appointment.


Weight management

HeartWise Ministries' Biblical Approach to Weight Management meeting will be at 7 p.m. tonight at Brainerd Baptist Church BX building. The topic: "Overcoming Addictions," featuring Dr. Tim Jennings, an international speaker and expert in the field. The program helps participants manage weight without fad diets or medications. Cancer information seminar

Memorial Health Care System will sponsor a free seminar at 1 p.m. June 29 to help those with cancer learn how to talk to their children about the disease. The seminar can be attended from your home via telephone with support materials available on the computer. Presenter is Brandy Johnson, licensed clinical social worker. Autism symposium and camp

Lee University will host the 2010 Annual Southeastern Autism Symposium, June 24-25, at Lee's Helen DeVos College of Education. The symposium will focus on motor control in education, communication, socialization, health and employment. Sessions begin 9:30 a.m. both days, lasting until 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 11:30 a.m. Friday. Keynote speaker at Friday's luncheon is Linda Messbauer. Lee will also host the second annual Camp Spectrum June 21-24 for individuals with autism, ages 4 to adult. Applications available now. AARP driver's class

Alexian Brothers Senior Neighbors will host an AARP Safe Drivers Class 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday at the Alexian Brothers Senior Neighbors building, 250 E.10th St. downtown. Bring a sack lunch. The cost is $12 for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers. Call 755-6100 to register.

Low-impact exercise

Abdominal aortic aneurysm screening

Free screening for men and women 65 or older, to detect bulge in artery wall with no previous diagnosis of abdominal aortic aneurysm, and no abdominal CT in the past five years. Screenings held Monday through Thursday at Memorial Hospital, Memorial North Park Hospital and Memorial Atrium Imaging Center. Registration and appointment required at 495-6000.
