Searching through the wooded areas and trails by Southern Adventist University is the latest attempt to find Marsha Suzanne Hunt, who went missing Monday.
The director of the university's Campus Safety Department put together a search party to comb the Biology Trail about 3 p.m. Wednesday, Collegedale Chief of Police Brian Hickman said during a news conference Wednesday.
On Tuesday, police also searched a small wooded area by Collegedale Seventh-day Adventist Church, where Ms. Hunt was last seen about 12:30 p.m. Monday, but no leads were found, he said.
"I've been here 11 years and this is the first time we've had anything like this," where an adult simply "vanishes," Chief Hickman said after the news conference.
Ms. Hunt, who goes by Suzanne, told her co-workers at the Collegedale Credit Union, about a half mile from the church, that she needed to run some errands at the church, where she works part time as an accountant.
A church video shows her leaving the church about 12:25 p.m., the same time someone reported seeing her walking around the church, Chief Hickman said.
She was reported missing by her parents Tuesday morning, and police found her car locked with her purse, wallet and phone inside.
Chief Hickman said they don't suspect foul play, but they aren't ruling it out.
Wolf Jedamski, church administrator and family spokesman, said Ms. Hunt's parents, Dan and Katye Hunt, are "very concerned about the whereabouts of their daughter" and are very appreciative for everyone's prayers on her behalf.
Ms. Hunt is in her late 30s, has blonde curly hair and wears glasses. She was last seen wearing a white skirt and a light blue sweater.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Ms. Hunt, is asked to call the Collegedale Police Department at 423-396-3133.

I also went to school with her. I've seen her around town and Collegedale area alot over the past few years. I even saw her at Riverbend Last Friday night. It does appear that every time I see her, she is by herself. Even at Riverbend, I didn't see anyone with her. I wonder why they are not thinking foul play? What else could it possibly be? Perhaps she has some hx of depression or something? But who would go off without their cell phone these days. Just can't stop thinking about her! We are praying for her safe return!!!
I hope the police toss the book at her when they find her, she more than likely ran away. Hiding out somewhere!!!
HannaBeckman, I can't believe how insensitive you are to this family's distress. Imagine if this was a member of your family... Your comments disgust me. I hope Suzanne is found safe and sound!
@bearbait: Are you a Doctor or something? If not: You need to refrain from making a medical or Psychological diagnosis. If you are a Doc then you have violated HIPAA Privacy Rule's. Please have some RESPECT!!!!
@ OOOOO: Whether or not bearbait is a "Doctor or something" is irrelevent. There was NO medical or Psychological diagnosis made! "perhaps she has some history of depression?" was what was said. Notice the question mark? That means the question was made as a possible reason for someone to leave like that. I'm not sure what was disrespectful about the comment. When indeed the opposite was intended.
Perhaps ooooo needs furthur education on actually making a diagnosis, which was NOT done, as a diagnosis cannot be made without an assessment of the individual (in person), thus there is NO HIPAA violation. Freedom of speech is what was used! I don't recall seeing RN, MD, FNP, or any other cridential following bearbait.
