Lookouts finish first half by sweeping Jaxx

JACKSON, Tenn. -- The Chattanooga Lookouts finished the first half of the Southern League baseball season by winning two games Saturday night against West Tenn, 5-0 and 3-2.

Chris Withrow pitched seven scoreless innings to pace the first victory. The Lookouts completed the sweep by loading the bases with one out in the seventh inning and pulling ahead when Corey Smith's sacrifice fly to right field scored Elian Herrera.

Chattanooga wound up the half with a 33-36 record.

Withrow got help in the opener from Smith, who doubled to center to score Eddy Perez in the fourth inning and singled to center to score Trayvon Robinson in the fifth. It was 4-0 in the sixth inning when Dustin Yount homered to right, his first for the Lookouts.

The Lookouts are off today and Monday and will open the second half of their Southern League season Tuesday night at 7:15 against Birmingham at AT&T Field.
