SIGNAL MOUNTAIN: Information on July 4 celebrations

Shuttle bus available this year at the July 4th Celebration. The free service will shuttle folks from Signal Crest United Methodist Church to Althaus Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with help on and off the bus.

The Lions July 4th Celebration will be on Monday, July 5, and will begin with barbecue served from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. or until it runs out. The fireworks display will commence at 9:40 p.m. The Lions will be offering free vision screening for children one- to five-years old. The screening can detect problems that cause poor vision in young children and will take place in the old pool house from 1-3 p.m. More information can be found online at www.ChattanoogaAndBeyond.com.

Congratulations to Signal Mountain Business Association members David Broome and David Smith. The owners of Mountain City Service were named "Member of the Month" at the recent MBA meeting.

The 39th summer production of the Signal Mountain Playhouse is "Brigadoon" and will run July 9-10, July 15-17 and July 22-24.

Directing is Mike Lees, well known in musical and dramatic circles in Chattanooga, and choreographing is Jessica Laliberte Bowman of Squawking Heads Productions.
