CHICKAMAUGA: ‘Vision for Public Education in Georgia’

On June 3, the Chickamauga City School System was represented by Randy Barker, Clay Crowder, Benny Ashley, Kristen Bradley, Jenny Vowell, Tommy Vowell, Peyton Vowell, Joni Kyths and Connie McDaniel at “A Vision for Public Education in Georgia,” an initiative to transform public education in Georgia. The meeting, held at Calhoun Elementary School, hosted more than 300 citizens and was designed to provide individuals an opportunity to have a voice in the plans to transform our public schools. The Georgia School Board Association and the Georgia School Superintendents’ Association were the convening groups for the initiative. Community conversations have been held around the state to engage citizens in this important work.
