City Council members could vote tonight on a proposed 2010-11 budget that could include a property tax increase, but they maintain the final budget is not set.

It seems that the elected officials in Chattanooga consistently try to trim the city budget each year by taking away from the city employees. These employees, our Firefighters, Police Officers, public works employees are taking care of us in our time of need 24/7, 365 days a year. It seems to me that they deserve to be taken care of in return. I wish that the council and the community would stand up for them! I hope that the council can find other means to trim the budget instead of taking it out on the employees.
