PBS stations airing Rounder Records special

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Stations of the Public Broadcasting System are airing Rounder Records 40th Anniversary Concert this March as part of their fundraising.

The show was taped last October at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry House and features Alison Krauss & Union Station with Jerry Douglas, Robert Plant, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Steve Martin, Nathan & The Zydeco Cha Chas, Henry Butler, Madeleine Peyroux, Bela Fleck and Irma Thomas. Minnie Driver is the host.

The grand finale is a gospel medley of "Angels Watching Over Me," ''I'll Fly Away" and "Down by the Riverside."

Rounder Records is an independent label founded in 1970 by three Boston-area college students: Ken Irwin, Marian Leighton Levy and Bill Nowlin.
