Chattanooga: Pedestrian struck by car

A pedestrian crossing Highway 58 near Oak Hill Drive was hit by a pickup truck today, according to Chattanooga police.

Traffic investigators responded to the area where a woman identified only as Mary had been crossing outside of a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a Ford F-150, driven by Daniel Rodriguez, 37, said Office Rebecca Royval, a spokeswoman for the Chattanooga Police Department.

The woman, who had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage, was transported by EMS and treated for a broken leg, Officer Royval said.

Mr. Rodriguez was cited for an expired driver’s license, expired insurance card and obstructed tag, Officer Royval said.
