Ask a doctor

Q. I'm convinced that I need to get healthier, but I'm not sure how to start.

A. A great local resource is the Hamilton County Step One: Optimize With Nutrition and Exercise Web site. You can find it at http://www.hcstep1.org. It has nutrition information, physical activity ideas, weight management tools (including learning about your body mass index, target weight, how to burn calories, etc.), and even information about local resources that can help you get into shape. You can even access a calendar about local events such as walks and runs. Step One is a local partnership with the goal of creating a culture in Hamilton County where residents choose to practice good nutrition and exercise regularly. Step One also has speakers available for local organizations that want to learn more about healthy living. This is a great place to start on your journey to health and well-being.
