East Ridge police today identified the man whose body was found in West Chickamauga Creek Thursday, said they do not suspect foul play.
Police say the body of Barry A. Moody, 22, of Ooltewah, Tenn., was found near the walking track of the creek in Camp Jordan Thursday afternoon, according to an East Ridge Public Safety news release.
At this stage in the investigation, police do not beieve foul play was a factor, but the case is being treated as a homicide due to the unknown circumstances surrounding Mr. Moody's death, safety spokesman Erik Hopkins said. The investigation is considered ongoing pending the results of a medical examiner's report, he said.
