Johnson City getting 2 more traffic cameras

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Johnson City police are installing two new traffic safety cameras, bringing the total to three.

Officers said there will be a 30-day grace period before citations are issued based on pictures from the cameras.

Police Chief John Lowry said the three locations were chosen based on high crash rates. Three more sites will be announced later.

The new sites are the intersection of State of Franklin Road and Browns Mill Road, and North Roan Street and Springbrook Drive.

The existing camera is at the intersection of State of Franklin Road and West Market Street.
