Braly: Searching for restaurants locals love

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

A few times a year, I like to take a drive out of town for a meal. No more than an hour or so, but it's nice to get away from routine. And there are so many good, out-of-the-way restaurants in the area. I've been to Tellico Plains, Copper Hill, Dunlap, Tullahome, South Pittsburg, Benton and other small towns in Tennessee. In Georgia, the only town I've focused on is Rome. Now I'm looking for some new ones. Not large towns, mind you, but those small hamlets with restaurants that the locals love.

E-mail me your suggestions (abraly@timesfreepress.com), in particular, those in Crossville and Dayton/Spring City, along with Summerville/Trio in Georgia.
