Bradley County: Sex offender arrested

An Oregon sex offender has been arrested in Bradley County for failing to register as required by Tennessee law.

Claude Edward Brackett, 51, of Fourth Street SE in Cleveland, was arrested Friday for violating the law that requires sex offenders from other states to register if they live, work or attend school in Tennessee, according to a news release.

Mr. Brackett was released after posting a $5,000 bond.

Detective Laura Lane, who conducts registrations for the Bradley County Sheriff's Office, put Mr. Brackett on the registry as a violent offender based on the age of the Oregon victim, the release said.
