Lookouts' game at Carolina suspended

ZEBULON, N.C. -- The Chattanooga Lookouts' game Thursday night against the Carolina Mudcats was tied 5-5 after 10 innings when it was halted by lightning and rain. The two teams will resume in the 11th inning tonight at 6, followed by the regularly scheduled game.

The Lookouts took a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning on RBI doubles by Scott Van Slyke and Eddy Perez, and they regained the lead at 5-4 in the eighth when Corey Smith's two-run single to right field was followed by Perez's RBI single to left. The Mudcats tied it in the bottom of the eighth on Jake Kahaulelio's two-out RBI double to left, but they could not convert in the ninth with runners on the corners and one out.

Chris Withrow (1-2, 7.04 ERA) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts for the third game of the series tonight, with Tom Cochran (2-1, 2.86) scheduled for the Mudcats.
