Motorcycle rides set

* "Bikers for Christ" ride pulls out this morning at 10 o'clock from Pikeville, Tenn.'s Main Street and concludes at 8 p.m.

Hospice of Chattanooga is one of several nonprofits benefiting from this ride.

The ride is an outreach to veterans, and will have a mobile vet center on-site. Additionally, there will be live entertainment, arts and crafts, bake sale and cake walk. The Bledsoe Sheriff's Department will be fingerprinting kids for the Identa-Kid program.

* The first National Freedom Ride will be held May 15, a patriotic ride being coordinated in 25 states.

Participants are asked to ride with flags flying to show support for troops and veterans.

Cathy Hopper is the regional coordinator for the Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama ride. The ride will begin at Harley-Davidson of Cartersville, Ga., and travel 107 miles to South Pittsburg, Tenn., escorted by Georgia and Tennessee troopers.
