18-year-old Shipley BucknerA single-vehicle crash resulted in a Baylor School student dying early today, according to a campuswide email.
An e-mail sent to upper school parents and faculty at Baylor confirmed that Shipley Buckner died as a result of injuries sustained in a single vehicle crash. The e-mail said a gathering for students, parents and faculty was held at the school's chapel today at 6 p.m.
The crash occurred this morning at 12:53 a.m. in the 9600 block of Hixson Pike, Hamilton County Sheriff's Office public information officer Ms. Janice Atkinson said in a news release. The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Traffic Division, the news release said.
